Memories of today

Out the window
houses
the once familiar road
now unfamiliar

the bus stop seen
the place that triggers
the memories of what happiness
now sad
floods into the heart

if time could standstill
would it not standstill
at the place
where content brimmed

Everything distant
so close yet so far
memories of yesterday
haunting thoughts of today

the once familiar route
gone to the back of the head
and weariness came
for gloom overwhelmed

the sun
shining it seems
but pass that route of once pleasant memories
the spotlight shone
on the single spot
unto a soul
nature unkind

shadows of the past
afeared
shadows of today
overwhelmed
thrust into oblivion
the heart once
thumped

is it hard to believe
a spot where laughter were heard
a spot where smiles were seen
would be the same spot
that destroys

long to walk along
the route of once pleasant memories
the route where grass unkempt
the route where time stood still
no more

-for i miss you terribly so-
