Blow the candles out
Blow the candles out
And listen to the whisperings
The murmurings
The silent tear drops
What have you done?
Is this what we want?
For the tears to continually shed
And disappear into a labyrinth of emptiness
Stir the cup
The petals fall
All that remains
Is the screams of the oppressed
She cried
Tearing
For what is no longer
No longer hers
The fear lingering
Like a thick shroud
of unwavering memories
ones that lingered happy
only to know they’d remain memories
The power lines went out
And she was all alone
Engulfed by the darkness was she
She who had only memories left
Memories of those she held dear
Those that made her smile
Those that were no longer there
She wanted to
Scream and Shout
For them to come back
For them to hear her once more
For them to shower her with love
For them to know she loved them
She never knew how to express
She thought she did
But all She ever did
Was cause hurt and misery
Without her knowledge
They took the pain
Without a single word
Suffering in silence were they
But in silent content
Clinging onto the hope that
One day
One day
Everything will be better
But that day never came
Not until it was too late
Not until the fading
Begun
That day
Some day
Another day
The day
Never came
For everything was too late
Clutching onto what was memories
Memories she didn’t want to lose
Memories she knew
Money could not buy
Memories in which
She once felt whole
Slide open the windows
Look down into oblivion
Nothing mattered anymore
Everything was bleak
And all she knew was that
Leaving this dreadful place
Where emptiness triumphed
Would make her happy
Whole
She closed her eyes
A gush of wind hit
A silent thud
Smiling
- Jonathan Ho Blow the candles out
and scream
a loud coherent sigh
